Neyat Yohannes

Neyat Yohannes is a freelance arts and culture writer. She currently writes for Contemporary Art Review Los Angeles. Her work has appeared in Criterion’s The Current, Artsy, Mubi’s Notebook, CREEM, Bright Wall/Dark Room, Bitch Media, KQED Arts, Cleo Film Journal, Playboy, and Chicago Review of Books, among other publications. She also regularly contributes exhibition texts, catalog essays, and print/web copy. In a past life, she wrote tardy slips for late students. At the moment, she's thinking about the push and pull of personal memory vs public (historical) memory and how neither is fixed. Neyat is based in Los Angeles.
